Clear Aligners
A faster and more comfortable option for teeth straightening compared to braces
Clear aligners are a modern alternative to traditional braces for straightening teeth and correcting mild to moderate bite issues. Unlike metal brackets and wires, aligners are transparent, custom-fitted trays worn in sequence — each one gently shifting your teeth a small amount closer to their ideal position. For many patients, they offer a more comfortable, discreet, and practical path to a straighter smile.
As with everything in our practice, we approach alignment with the whole person in mind. The goal isn’t just straight teeth — it’s a bite that supports healthy jaw function, proper breathing, and long-term comfort. Not every aligner system works the same way, and we take care to use technology that works with your body rather than against it.
Most conventional clear aligner systems require 22 hours of wear per day and rely on sustained, significant force to move teeth. AirFlex takes a fundamentally different approach — one designed to fit more naturally into daily life while being considerably gentler on your teeth and supporting structures.
Nighttime-only wear. AirFlex trays are designed to be worn 12 hours a day. Put them in after dinner, take them out in the morning. No wearing them to work or school. No disruptions at meals or meetings. For patients who found conventional aligners difficult to commit to, this is a meaningful change.
Faster tray progression. With most systems, each tray is worn for two weeks before advancing to the next. AirFlex moves to a new tray every week — so treatment progresses at a steady pace without requiring more time in your mouth.
One-third the force. Perhaps most importantly, AirFlex uses approximately one-third the force of a conventional aligner. Less force means less discomfort, less stress on teeth and their roots, and an experience that aligns with our broader commitment to gentle, minimally invasive care.
If you’ve been curious about aligners but had concerns about the time commitment or discomfort, AirFlex may be worth a conversation. Contact our Stamford or Manhattan office to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kundel.
