Let me start with my history. Little over 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. This is when your entire body has chronic widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance and heightened pain sensation in response to tactile pressure. I was seeking help from many medical professionals knocking on every door out there. I was worried a lot because I could not even hold my newborn baby for long. My back was hurting me. My neck was always stiff and tender and I could not even breastfeed my child. I had occasional severe headaches and was always dizzy. I had medical tests done such as MRI, vestibular test, vision test and CT scan of my entire spine. In August of 2012 I had a mini stroke at the age of 33. I then underwent treatments: acupuncture, trigger point injections, physical therapy, massage therapy and even energy healing. Every treatment was relieving my pain only for couple of hours and then I would go back to my life of pain and discomfort. I had no time to think of myself because I had two children that needed me 24/7. At that time I had no clue that all these symptoms might be connected (no pun intended) to my tongue.

It was sometime in August of last year, when I switched to a local dentist here in Stamford. I just came for my regular cleaning appointment and to my surprise this doctor was beyond my expectations. It was very hectic for me at that point because I’ve been trying to treat myself with different professionals at many offices. For some reason I trusted him from the first moment. He took measurements of my mouth at oral evaluation and asked only one question: whether I was breastfed or not, and ,of course, I remembered my worries when I was not able to breastfeed my son, and my mom always used to tell me that I grew up on formula. She told me it was not a big deal. Then Doctor Kundel pointed out that my tongue is tied and that that might be a contributing factor for the discomfort that I described in my health history. He offered a laser procedure to remove that extra tissue under my tongue that would release it. Additionally, I would have to do tongue stretches and follow up with chiropractor for some adjustments.

I agreed knowing that I’ve tried already so many things why not give it a try now. In the office, in that dental chair after the first touch of a laser I felt tremendous release in my neck. It felt like my neck was always tied with a rubber band and someone just cut this band and it let go. That felt amazing. I knew I have a long way to go and I did religiously all my tongue exercises. I am still seeing my chiropractor and in a combination with tongue exercises and dietary changes my life has changed for the better. Now I can sleep for 7 hours straight without waking up at night with pain. I am less stressed, I can wear tight clothes and let my hair down (which was absolutely impossible before). I am very happy with my treatment. I want to shout out loud that you don’t have to live with pain like I had which makes every one’s life around you miserable. Thank you Dr. Kundel for changing not only my life, but every one I love and live for. God Bless You.
